TERMS AND CONDITIONS
We require payment in cash or card upon arrival. Please note, after check-in, there is no refund under any circumstance. Deposits paid are non refundable.
Please make note that any cancellations, both total or partial for hostel bookings are subject to a 48 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations must be made within 48 before the scheduled arrival date at the hostel. Cancellations can only be made by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. For bookings made via Booking.com please note we are unable to assist with changes directly, you can update details using the log-in information provided on making the reservation.
Age and ID Restriction Policy
***Important Information*** Minors, Families and Groups Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (over 25) who is staying in the same dorm/room. If staying in a single sex dorm room the adult and child must be the same gender. Couples under 18 years old are not able to share a private room. Note that under 16-year-olds must be in a private room (with adult)and cannot stay in dorms sharing with other travellers. Written authorization signed by their parents and copies of parents ID's are needed, for all under 18 years old. In compliance with Licensing Law, all under 18s will be asked to leave Bar after 8pm. Families travelling with children will need to book private rooms
All members of the family must present a valid form of identification. Please note that we cannot provide extra beds.
If you already book before read our age restriction policy and you are coming with a person under age please email us to email@example.com to inform the situation, The Walrus Hostel reserve the right to cancel any booking done without take in consideration our age restriction policy.
If your booking is over GBP 175 The Walrus Hostel may contact you to arrange the payment for the first night in advance.
Fail to reply The Walrus Hostel e-mail or complete the first night payment if is required
may result in the cancellation of your booking.
Arrivals and Departures
New arrivals can check into their rooms after 2pm each day. Guests may arrive earlier and leave their luggage at the hostel but access to rooms will not be granted until after 2pm. Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their room, and check out, before 11am. After this time guests may make use of the luggage storage facilities, but all possessions must be removed from the room and the security card handed back to reception
You do not have to be a member of any organisation to stay at The Walrus Hostel however we do require that some form of valid photo identification is presented upon check in, preferably a Passport, I.D. card, or driving license.
Guests must hand all security room cards back to reception
Check out is at 11 am. In the event of a late check out, you will be asked to pay for an extra night.
The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to The Walrus Hostel Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety, or security of other guests, staff, or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property. In the case of groups, the group leaders must ensure that all members of their group behave in an acceptable manner. Failure of any individual group member to do so will result in the expulsion of the whole group
Smoking is not permitted anywhere within The Walrus Hostels premises. Any guest found smoking within the building will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund. A smoking area and ashtrays are provided outside the bar for guests who wish to smoke.
Alcohol and Drugs
Alcohol is served in the downstairs bar, and guests may consume their own alcoholic beverages in the hostel with in designated areas- so long as they are over the age of 18. Any guests under the age of 18 found consuming alcoholic beverages, as well as their guardian(s) and other group members (where applicable) will be escorted from the premises and will not be offered a refund. Any guests found with, consuming, or under the influence of any illegal drugs will be expelled from the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund.
Guests may use secure lockers located in their rooms or the luggage store located in the first floor area. However it remains the guest's responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. The Walrus Hostel accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to property however sustained or caused.
The Walrus Hostel Property
Guests will be expected to reimburse to The Walrus Hostel for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay at The Walrus Hostel.
Except in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence The Walrus Hostel liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.
The Walrus Hostel shall only store and use information you supply to us or which is supplied to us for the purposes of carrying out our contract with you.
All guests are advised that The Walrus Hostel is a five story building, without lift facilities or handicapped access beyond the ground bar floor. Guests with limited mobility are advised to contact the management at The Walrus Waterloo before considering booking. Guests should be aware that they may be assigned to a room on any floor of the building, including the top floor. Guests should be aware that they may be assigned a top bunk.
Errors and Omissions
Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages or site, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, despatch note, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter.
All bookings are subject to availability and The Walrus Hostel reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
Left or Lost Baggage or Items:
The Walrus is not responsible for any belongings left or lost by guests both in the bar or the hostel. The Walrus may, upon discretion, hold belongings left behind by guests for NO MORE than 3 months, or 90days. Guests who have lost or forgotten belongings may contact firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about their items within this period however The Walrus cannot guarantee the return of any lost
items, as they are not, nor have ever been our responsibility.
Regardless the website you may have used to make your booking (booking.com, hostelbookers.com, hostelworld.com, thewalrusbarandhostel.com) If your booking is over GBP 50 The Walrus Hostel may contact you to arrange the payment for the first night in advance.
Fail to reply The Walrus Hostel e-mails or complete the first night payment if is required may result in the cancellation of your booking.
• You will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of the 1st night a week after booking is made. The balance will be required 2 weeks before arrival.• One group leader will be required to give a credit card upon arrival for a “Group Deposit”. This will need to be the card holder. We will pre-authoriSe the card for £300 in case of breakage or for not respecting coach stopping/parking rules.• If your group is arriving by coach, make sure to contact us for information on where to stop and park.• If you do not inform us by email on when booking we cannot guarantee for your group to be in the same rooms and depending on availability your booking might be cancelled.
• In the event of Force Majeure (governmental action; fire; flood; insurrection; earthquake; power failure; riot; explosion; embargo, transportation interruption of any kind; terrorist attack; acts of God… ) affecting your booking, the company reserves the right to receive any outstanding payments in connection to your confirmed booking. Groups (+6 people).
TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING BOOKINGS OVER THE NEW YEAR PERIOD:
1. All bookings made for dates between 30th of December 2019 and 2nd of January 2020, require a NON REFUNDABLE 30% deposit.

The Walrus Hostel will contact you to arrange this 30% in advance. Failure to reply the Walrus Hostel e-mails (3) or complete the 30% payment if required, and your booking may be cancelled.2. Any payments date changes or cancellation (full or partial) must be confirmed before 25th December 2019.
